The moniker “Slashly” is a nickname bestowed upon her that combines her given name (Ashley) and her penchant for getting too many slashing penalties when she played ice hockey (way too many penalties for a goaltender).

She is passionate about making DJing and clubbing a more inclusive space for women, LGBTQIA+ folks, Native American folks, and those from other marginalized spaces.
