2010 Nostalgia Mix

I heard the song "2010" by Kbubs (ft. Alisa), which cribs on 2010 nostalgia, and decided to build a DJ mix around it throwing back to 2010 hits. That's the short of it.

The slightly longer explanation is, I keep seeing people trying to make 2026 the new 2016. I get it. That's very easy. I have nostalgia for 2016 music (just "Closer" by The Chainsmokers on repeat, 'ey!). But 2016 was the beginning of the end for dance music's dominance on the charts. The beginning of the end for its simple, infectious melodies.

But 2010? Well, 2010 is not quite the beginning of that wave (I'd say that's 2007 or 2008), but it is when you start to see that this is going to be big. Dance pop is all over the radio. Robyn is teaching us that you can be sad and still dance your heart out. "Alors on danse" is taking over. Avicii has been lurking, but now is entering the scene in a big way with "Bromance."

And so, I figured maybe others wanted to revel in some 2010 nostalgia, too. Enjoy.
